I'm Mohamed Hersi. I studied maths at King's College London and work as a pricing actuary, building the statistical models an insurer uses to price risk.

I've tutored for years at every level — in classrooms at London Academy and Oasis Southbank, and at King's as a graduate teaching assistant on Calculus II and Mathematical Finance II. I teach 11+ and SATs, GCSE, A-level, and undergraduate maths — any exam board.

I make animated maths videos in my own time. The thinking behind them and behind the way I teach is the same: most people meet maths as a set of procedures to reproduce under time pressure, and never find out what any of it is for. That's a bad deal, and it's also why so little of it sticks.
